Andrew Melville is a recognised leader and specialist in
the science of storytelling, drawing on experience from a
career spanning more than 25 years.
Andrew’s professional life began as a reporter and
documentary radio broadcaster in New Zealand, the United Kingdom,
Germany and Australia, winning a number of awards for his
work on environmental issues.
His vast industry experience also included a role at the
Waitakere City Council as a communicator and public consultation
facilitator on sustainability issues.
Along with this work Andrew also spent time as a university
lecturer in communications including a specialisation on Corporate
Social Responsibility. This was followed by a role as Public
Affairs Manager for AUT University in Auckland and a Master’s
degree in Communication Studies.
Andrew has a strong emphasis on communicating sustainability
effectively and creatively. He works with organisations to
match their values and vision to stories to create strong
and engaged corporate cultures.
He runs workshops and programmes for corporate and government
clients, and the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand.
He has spoken at conferences in New Zealand, Australia and
the United States on the powerful benefits of communicating
sustainability effectively.
